Headlong – Salome

Continuing our strong creative relationship with Headlong, we have been commissioned to create an image and subsequent posters/leaflets for their new production of Oscar Wilde’s Salome. In the play Salome, step-daughter of King Herod agrees to perform the mysterious dance of the seven veils but demands in return the head of the King’s most infamous prisoner – John the Baptist.

The show image (below) was selected for its sensual and seductive portrayal of Salome. We have combined a contemporary, photographic image with tattoos inspired by Aubrey Beardsley who created the original illustrations for Wilde’s production in 1896.

Directed by Jamie Lloyd and co-produced by the Curve Theatre Leicester, the show will be touring the UK this spring.
